2007 Changing Faces Women's Leadership Program
East West Center, Honolulu, Hawaii
Program Dates: July 8 - 19, 2007
Changing Faces is a program designed to bring together women from the United States and the Asia Pacific region to participate in dialogue on leadership and issues specific to women in leadership around the region. The theme for this year's program is "Women and Peace Building in Asia, the Pacific, and the United States" and the seminar will be held at the East-West Center in Honolulu, Hawai'i. Women active in community development, peace building in post-conflict situations, or inter-communal/inter-religious dialogue efforts are welcome to apply. In particular, the program seeks applicants with demonstrated leadership experience, either professionally or through voluntary community activities, and who have the potential to move into positions of greater responsibility and influence.
The program seeks professional women at lower and middle level positions of leadership who have the potential to move into positions of greater responsibility and influence. Women with 5-12 years of work experience related to the program theme from the public and private sectors, government, civil society, media, and education would all be eligible, as long as there is a connection of the work to peace building. They should have the ability to use English in a professional, multi-cultural setting. Preference will be given to candidates with no previous higher education or professional training experience in the United States.
