THE NEW CENTURY SCHOLARS PROGRAM (NCSP) The Program brings together an international group of top academicians and professionals under the Fulbright banner. The objective of the program is to examine a major transnational theme and work collaboratively on a single subject or issue of global significance, from a multi-disciplinary perspective. The research theme for the academic year 2005-2006, the research focus is "Higher Education in the 21st Century: Global Challenge and National Response " Number of Awards:

Eligibility:
For applicants in the professional fields, the appropriate terminal degree in a relevant field. U.S. applicants must have U.S. citizenship and be residing permanently in the United States U.S. applicants who are currently on the Fulbright Senior Specialist Roster may not accept any Senior Specialist assignments during the NCS program year. Non-U.S. applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of and residing in the country from which they are applying at the time of application. Non-U.S. applicants holding permanent residency "green cards", whether or not they reside in the U.S., are not eligible. Since specific residency requirements vary from country to country, applicants should contact their local Fulbright office directly to determine their eligibility. Non-U.S. applications must be submitted through a participating Fulbright Commission or Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in the home country Fluency in English. Grant Benefits:
Accommodations and meals for program seminars NCS grants are not intended as salary replacement or to support fulltime research. The grants provide funds for the NCS Scholars to attend the program seminars, carry out an international exchange visit, cover related research expenses and some salary. Specifically:
