ISLAMIC CIVILIZATIONS INITIATIVE AWARD
 
 
The program aims to enhance the knowledge and understanding of Islam and Islamic history and culture. It is open to recent university graduates and post graduates candidates.
 
Fields of Study:
 
The study of Islamic history, philosophy, civilization, law, society and culture.
 
Eligibility:
  • Applicants must hold a B.A. degree or equivalent before the beginning date of the grant.
Academic Year:
 
July through April. Grantees are expected to arrive in India during the first half of September for attendance at an orientation conference in Delhi.
 
Grant Benefits:
  • Maintenance allowance Rs. 40,000 per month (Additional Rs. 5000 is provided as high cost city allowance for students affiliated in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad)
  • Dependent allowance Rs. 7,500 per month up to a maximum of one dependent. Please note that dependent allowance is given only if the dependent stays for a minimum of 80% of the scholar's time in India.
  • Round-trip travel according to USIEF guidelines for grantee only
  • Health insurance for grantee only
  • Research allowance of $50
  • Excess baggage allowance
