1.When does the Seminars Abroad program in India take place?


The Seminars Abroad Program takes place every year in the months of July and August. The complete program lasts five weeks, covering the whole month of July and the first week of August.

2.When is the program advertised?


United States Educational Foundation in India submits the proposal for the next year’s program to U.S. Department of Education in June of the previous year. The U.S. Department of Education advertises the same on their website in August and the closing date of submission of applications is in the last week of October.

3.What are the details of eligibility, application and selection procedures?

4.How do I learn about previous Seminars Abroad programs to India?

5.Who will make the program related arrangements for us?


United States Educational Foundation in India (USEFI) will make arrangements for travel from the U.S. to India and back by the most direct route for all participants to travel as a group. Within India travel, board, lodge, meals and the academic program will also be taken care of by USEFI. You will be responsible for arranging the insurance for yourself.

6. Will USEFI assist me in answering my queries regarding the Seminars Abroad program?


Once you get a confirmation from USDE that you have been selected for the Seminars Abroad program to India for a particular year, you can send your queries to USEFI. Kindly do not send any query to USEFI before your final selection in the program.

7.How can I get in touch with specialists in India in my field of education?


If you wish, you can establish contact through email with Indian scholars in your field before you arrive in India. During the five weeks program, free time slots are allotted for participants’ individual pursuits. You can make use of such time slots to meet with the scholars.

8. Is it mandatory to submit a curriculum project and what is the timeline for it?


It is mandatory for all participants of Seminars Abroad program to submit a curriculum project to United States Educational Foundation in India by the end of November of the year in which they attended the Seminars Abroad program. USEFI will upload the abstracts of the curriculum projects on the website mentioned under question number 4.
